Healing

I recently had some dental surgery and when I visited my dentist again this week, he told me, "I don't know what you are doing, but keep on doing it".

I can't say for sure it was because I was taking ReLiv, but I wasn't the last time I'd gone for major dental work and I was this time. I think it is.

So, if you think you are heading for some healing need, a surgery or an emotional trauma of some kind, a change of any kind, just remember, the body will heal best when it has the right nutritients.

ReLiv provides those nutrients. Try it for yourself.

Contact me and we can talk about it too.

Why Doesn't Everyone Take Reliv??

I've asked myself that question over and over again. What am I doing wrong? Why can't everyone I tell about Reliv just do it? There is something in my heart that saddens when I see someone who could be helped by this product still sufferring from pain, discomfort and disease.
I know there are many ways to approach introducing people to ReLiv, but I've decided my best way it to hold them in my heart and pray, yes pray, that the ones who will come to me to buy Reliv will come and the ones who don't will find some other means for themselves. Then I let go of the worry.

So, if you are that person who wants to have better health, better nutrition and a better life, contact me. I'll be happy to get you in touch with so many others who have found ReLiv to enhance theirs. Email, phone or leave a comment here. I'll answer any and all requests. sandyrelivnow@gmail.com, 520 548 1870, click comment below! Come and Get It!!!

Travel and Reliv

I just returned from a trip to Illinois. It is a good time to get away from Tucson as we are in our hot, muggy, rainy season. It was fortunately a good time to be in Illinois even though it was sometimes hot, muggy and rainy. The weather there was beautiful nonetheless with welcome cool evenings and green, green, green grass, trees, flowers, everywhere. I dipped my feet in Good Old Lake Michigan, and refreshed myself by eating just picked corn on the cob. Great trip!

Traveling with Reliv has posed problems for me in the past. Note my post about Consistency, Consistency, Consistency. So I've been practicing how to bring Reliv along on my housesitting assignments and it's worked pretty well.
This trip was going to be 10 days and 2,000 miles away. I packed up my zip locks of product (enough for two/three shakes a day for ten days) and placed them all in my carry-on. Success! They fit! I could reach them easily and I brought along a little mason jar to use for the shakes.
My first challenge came after a long sleepy 3 a.m. drive to Phoenix via shuttle. I was tired, stressed and had to catch a flight that may or may not have a seat for me as I always fly stand-by.
Out came the jar, over to a water fountain, nice cold water, and a seat in the gate area. I discreetly opened my carry on, added the product and my first shake was ready! It worked. No one looked at me strangely, I didn't spill or make a mess and best of all I felt so much better with the Reliv in me.
My entire trip was a success. I made my shakes on time, stored my product easily at airports, in the car or at my hosts' homes and didn't miss a beat!!! Thank you Reliv for being such a versatile product. And thank you for getting me through those airports, the waits and the stress of not knowing if I'd make it on a flight. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Reliv is as good a traveler as I am!!!!

Stories, Stories, Stories

The crux of this business is getting stories in front of people. Each time I hear a story, I am inspired, heartened, strengthened in my own resolve to give myself the best of nutrition possible.

If you are reading this blog, you may be interested in some of these stories. I recommend you go to the Reliv.com website and click on testimonials. There are many health stories as well as business stories there.

I recommend you contact me for more entrees into stories that fit your own situation. Believe me when I say, these products work in people's lifes. There is NO reason they will NOT work in yours. Let me know what you need. ReLiv can help.

Many blessings to you as you seek your own health and healing.

My Story - Redeux

I've been frustrated with this blog format in that it gives last post first. I think I'd rather start from the beginning and read as I wrote them, following the evolution of thought.

But, I have not found a way to do that. I ask new readers each month to go to the April 5, 2008 and read "My Story" and the April posts first when you visit this blog. You can, of course, do it however you want, but I think it's worth reading the beginning before reading the present. Still ------ Being in The Now isn't so bad either.

Blessings friends.

Soy What?

Personally, I've always been a fan of soy. It made sense to me that there would be an alternative protein source that was not animal protein. But Inever really knew what or how much soy was good for me. I just used it from time to time or once a week instead of meat.

Then there was some kind of study about soy and cancer. Great! Now what, I used to think.

Well, currently as happens with many of these medical studies, the connection between soy and cancer is so not what it appeared to be and more and more articles are being written to prove that. I have excerpted one such article from the September 2007 issue of Oprah's, O Magazine, written by David L. Katz, MD.

The evidence linking soy intake with breast cancer risk is mixed.

When researchers compare the Japenese, who eat a lot of soy, to Americans, who eat very little, they find lower rates of breast cand other cancers in the soy eaters. However, they've found that in a test tube, soy's plant estrogens can speed cancer cell growth. Why the discrepancy? It may be that soy behaves differently in the body than it does in test tubes. Or soy may have both positive and negative influences on breast cancer. . .. . . Replacing steak with soy could be protective. ... A recent National Cancer Institute workshop on soy and breast cancer risk concluded that we still don't know enough to recommend soy for cancer prevention. and a solid answer, based on research, is still years away.

So, in other words, the jury is still out. And my first thought is: "Who lives in a test tube anyway?"

I like soy. Reliv Classic and some other products are soy-based. I found an interesting thing happened when I started taking Reliv. Not only did my pain go away (see My Story in the archives), and I stopped craving sugar, caffiene and fast foods, but I noticed I didn't eat as much chicken either!! In fact, I was still eating fish, but even more frequently and didn't have chicken for almost a whole month before I noticed it. (I'd stopped eating beef and pork some years ago, and only occassionally included them in my diet).

So, I'd rather see myself in my life, than in a test tube and I know the results Reliv has produced. After all, isn't that the most important thing???

Questions, comments always welcome. Are you ready to Re-Live??

My own worst enemy

Because I've done a lot of my own personal growth work and coached hundreds of others in theirs, I know about negative self talk. You know. It'll never work. I can't. What makes me so special? How is this possible? It's crazy to think ... I'm not up to it.

On and on it goes. Knowing it is negative is not enough. I, or anyone, must act despite these "stoppers". The talk may never stop, but it doesn't have to stop us.

So as I progress with my ReLiv business, this negative self talk pops up over and over. How do I overcome them? How can I change them? What is needed to succeed even when I feel discouraged?

The answer is two-fold for me. One, I use my upline, the support system that is built in with those who are personally invested in my success. I also use my colleagues. Those people I know who are using and distributing Reliv who are as dedicated to Nourishing Our World as I am. We support each other freely and happily. There is always someone I can call.

Reaching out for support is in and of itself a difficult action for me to take. But, it has helped me far more than I can say. Whether it's been during times of family stress, personal change or desperate need, reaching out to others has been what gives me strength. Always, I have found a shift in behavior and attitude as a result.

So, I reach out to my upline and to my wonderfully dedicated colleagues.

The second way I have available to me is the entire business system Reliv offers. Locally we have informational evenings every Tuesday night. Others in the business get together to share the story of their own results, health and financial. We present these opportunities to interested parties, so I don't have to "sell" anything to anyone. The stories speak for themselves. Each Saturday morning we meet again to expand and deepen our ability to help others enjoy the benefits of these great products and this wonderful business opportunity. It helps and much as I want to skip them, I am always supported when I go.

Naturally, my own health supports me in all of this. I find I listen to my NST (negative self talk) more when I'm tired or hungry. The cure?? You guessed it! Consistent use of RELIV!!!!

Let me know what you do to combat NST.

Starting My Business

Just a quick explanation about how I decided to commit myself to the ReLiv business. Although I'd always worked and made good money, I had never accumulated wealth, always been in debt and resigned to the fact I would never have an inheritance for my children other than passing on family values (that counts for much, I know, but I still wanted to give them some financial assets as well).

Then my mom died and the estate she and my dad left me was put in trust, so I wouldn't spend it away. The income from the trust was less than I thought and I was angry and resentful about that as I thought it should be more. I didn't like feeling that way and I wanted another avenue of income besides house sitting.

Did you know the ReLiv business is a willable asset? This is a very unusual aspect of network marketing. Usually, the business dies when the person dies. But Reliv has made it so our families can benefit even if we are gone.

So, I figured I still had time left in my life to make amends (amending past behaviors to new behaviors), make money by myself as opposed to living off my parent's trust AND save/use my income wisely AND pass it on to my kids. That was my motivation for the business and once that happened, my son-in-law stood by me, offered his support and I also found a way to enter the business at the highest profit level . That increased my ability to tap into the true spirit of networking by telling not just everyone I knew, but putting out my cards whenever and where ever I could, and treating myself as a business person.

Because there are regular Tuesday night informational meetings, Saturday trainings and other wonderful support systems in place, I will not be alone in making all this happen. It is my full intention to do this business to the best of my ability and to learn and grow in the process. Sounds like FUN to me!!!

Watch me grow. Join me if you want. We'll nourish our world together!

Consistency, Consistency, Consistency

One of the first things you learn when you start the ReLiv products is to take them consistently. If you have read "My Story" is how ReLiv worked to take my pain away in three days. This pain had been with me over 10 years and was getting worse and worse every year.

You can bet I took the product consistently. Well, when I went to the San Jose conference, I brought my product along of course and I thought I was doing ok taking it consistently until mid-morning on Saturday.

Suddenly, as I was sitting in the main auditorium, I got up to go the the ladies room and wham!! My ankle pain was back with a vengence. I couldn't believe it and thought it would subside easily if I just walked it off as I sometimes do. But no. This was pain like I used to have before December, pain so bad I could barely walk and I was not looking forward to having all those people see me limping and hobbling so badly I could barely make it.

So, I hobbled alone back across the street to my hotel. Got myself upstairs and realized I had not been taking ENOUGH product. I had taken it consistently, but didn't have the amount correct since Friday morning.

I was so afraid I'd blown it forever! All my memories of how things had been came back. All my fears and that terrible pain made me realize I still had a broken, damaged ankle and I had ReLiv to thank for giving me my mobility back.

So I took a big old shake, laid down for about an hour, took another shake with lots of Arthraffect, a bit more rest and Lo and Behold!!! I was pain free the rest of the time.

I learned my second lesson. Number one was consistency, Number two is amount! I will not make the same mistake again.

My insights from San Jose

As many of you know, I'm an old trainer, corporate management consultant and personal growth coach. So I know about goal setting, purpose statements and all that goes with changing behavior and creating a reality.

But my heart was heavy as I started the conference at the San Jose Convention Center. I felt stuck, unmotivated and sad that I was not building my business by helping others experience the wonder of ReLiv's optimal nutritional support that leads to healing.

I had a serious conversation with my room mate Garnet about this and she asked me "Well, what are you looking for?" The perfect growth coach question, I evidently couldn't ask myself.

"I want to know why I'm so stuck and how to get moving on sharing these products and this great opportunity. I want to get unstuck." I replied.

"Well, then," she assured me. "You will get that, just keep asking that question."

My answer came Saturday morning. Three young (very young to me) distributors where on stage presenting a workshop entitled "Focus: The key to Achieving Your Goals". Pretty basic stuff I thought. But as the workshop proceeded, I was surprised and delighted to receive many new insights to my stuck situation.

The first was in the form of an axiom. "If you chase two rabbits at the same time, you lose both of them".

It pictured well and I realized I'd been trying to serve two masters much in the same way I was when I began my career as a psychotherapist (growth coach).

At that time, I was doing several corporate management training workshops and figured I could build my therapy practice with the help my new wonderful mentor/employer and support system. Then, I figured, I could gradually stop doing the management training as my therapy practice grew.

But I was very surprised when my employer, told me "NO".

She said, "You must put 100% into this effort and give up your other work". I was stunned. I was afraid, but I did it.

I completed my current contracts with corporate clients such as GM, Amoco Oil, and other local manufacturing plants. At the same time, I left an apartment and area I loved, moved in with my sister, shared her townhouse for an entire year, commuted into the city and dug in with the meager start of five clients and very little income.

But, I succeeded. Through that sacrifice, I found the motivation and energy to become the best therapist I could be. My corporate career was over and my new growth coach career had begun. I never looked back, and I never regretted it. I was 48 years old.

So, I'm grateful for the energy and enthusiasm of those three distributors in San Jose who talked about turning your focus to ReLiv in order to succeed and reach your goals. There was more I gained from hearing them, but the rabbit quote was the best and I received it within hours of asking for it.

I have one more personal insight regarding my reluctance to take on ReLiv as a business. As you know, I'm 100% behind the products and I love the company as a whole. But, that other story must be left to private phone calls, not to be displayed here on the public blog. Call me anytime and I will be happy to tell you what it is.

Many blessings to all. Let's stay healthy as we journey through this wonderful thing called Life!

Back From San Jose

Well, I went to my first Regional Conference and am so glad I did. Of course, I met wonderful people, was inspired by numerous stories and was so happy to share my story as well. I was able to get closer with my Tucson ReLiv family, my upline as well as my personal motivations to do this wonderful business.

I would like to share just two stories with all of you.

PS - You are welcome to read this post first, but if you are new to the blog, you may also want to read the archived posts that came before to gain insight into my purpose and approach. Here goes!

My first story begins with the beginning. On the plane to San Jose. I drove from Tucson to Phoenix, left my car at my daughter's and she drove me to the airport. While there I met up with my sponsor, Roberta, her husband and a great new friend Bubba. We sat together and of course starting chatting away with each other about - what else? ReLiv!

Two rows behind us sat a lovely couple Richard and Mirna Bowley. They too were going to the conference and so we quickly made friends. Well, the first thing you ask a person with ReLiv is: "What's your story?" and Richard and Mirna were no exception. Roberta and I shared ours and then they proceeded to tell us their incredible health and business story.

Mirna, an LPN who works at a Phoenix hospital had fantastic results on ReLiv and like so many others, she had been very resistant to taking the product in the beginning. Mirna suffered from juvenile arthritis especially in her knees for years (since she was 15, I think) and she also had severe sleep apnea to the point that her husband had to monitor her while she slept so she would not choke to death in her sleep! Needless to say both were terribly sleep deprived.

Fast foward to the first week Mirna took the product. Great results with both issues and Richard was especially convinced this was a busness opportunity they did not want to miss. When he told his sponsor he was $100,000 in debt and had no way to become an MA, she told him "Find a way"!

What happened next was very impressive. Richard came home and asked Mirna for her wedding rings. Over all her tears and protests, he took them, along with his own wedding band and a gold medallion necklace of his, to a pawn shop. He told the broker "I need x amount of dollars and I will pay you back in 30 days".

Richard went on to tell us that they placed the order and before it was even delivered they had sold almost all of it because of the dramatic results Mirna had received and I suspect because of his own enthusiasm and integrity about this product. Sure enough within 20 days he was back at the pawn shop picking up the rings much to the amazement of the pawn broker.

I feel so fortunate to have met Richard and Mirna on the plane because as they told their story throughout the conference, Steve Hastings, our VP of Marketing, eventually got wind of it. On Saturday morning, to their surprise he asked them to come up on stage and tell it to the entire conference. I have to say they were incredible and their business cards were gone before they could even get back to their seats!!!

So that was inspiring to me and to many others to know that sacrifice can pay off many fold if you stay focused on your goal.

Hang on and I'll tell you my own special story that happened while I was at the conference. I'll make another post to tell some of the things I learned while I was there. Don't go away, this is worth it!

Another Reason to take ReLiv

I was thinking about this today and I want to clarify something in my mind. It has to do with the future (or the present) of our world and our country.

It seems to me that every day I see more and more people who have given up on themselves, on their life styles and who show an ever increasing "malaise". By contrast, I've seen and experienced that good health leads to healthier thoughts, clarity of mind and positive mood levels. Good health means good nutrition and good nutrition is what ReLiv offers. It's a gift.

With all we have to deal with in this world currently and in the future, it seems to me that we need people who can accept this gift. We need people who can cope with the difficulties that lie ahead. The pressures that are pressing on us from every direction look as though they will continue and worsen. War, environmental crisis, economic downturns, educational erosion, so many conflicts in our society need people who can think well, be compassionate and who know the difference between good health and ill health.

I've accepted the gift of ReLiv. I want to contribute as much as possible while I'm still on this earth. How about you?

About DeTox

If you are visiting my site for the first time, you are welcome to read this post first, but I recommend that you start from the earliest and read forward, first to last. Enjoy. - S

So what is this experience called detox? And what does it have to do with healing the body?

I never liked the term. Probably denial on my part. I don't want to think I'm toxic. Toxic means poisoned doesn't it? Of course, I knew I was taking in poison when I smoked and even to a small degree when I drank alcohol. But that was minor and besides, I kicked those habits. Didn't I?

And then there is the environment. I live in Tucson, near mountains, with a fair amount of fresh air available, at least until I drive into town or hit the freeway. Generally, though I think I have a fairly unpolluted environment. Yet ---- there is that term --- toxic waste. I just brought some old paint cans to the toxic waste pick up service. Always scary to get that close. The commercials -- one that comes to mind right now is "Two hours in a meeting - Two million years in a landfill" that shows a plastic bottle. I've stopped drinking out of plastic as much as possible.

But I digress. Detox when it comes to ReLiv is different. Yes, we have toxins in our body, yes a healthy body has none or less, but to get from unhealthy to healthy is another journey.

Where the toxins leave the body can be different for every person and some are more common than others. The skin, of course is a valuable organ for eliminating, our urine, our breath (lungs) and then there is our poop. Whatever eliminates will do so when we detox. I've heard of rashes, bad breath, tired muscles, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, and of course, my favorite diarrhea. Headaches are often reported, not sure what that is, but it's common.

Yet, my own experience has been minimal when it comes to detox. I slept a bit more, I had very, very slight headaches for a couple of days. Not much else. So how do I know I detoxed? I felt better. I felt much, much better! Oh yes, I got a very sore tongue for about a week. That was the worst I experienced and it was well worth it, because I feel better than I have for years.

I have found that when I nourish my body, my body naturally gets rid of the toxins that are in the way of full health. What a wonderful partnership. Nourishment and health.

So if anyone out there is interested in releasing your natural health and eliminating the toxins you have ingested, been exposed to and incorporated all your life, just see me. I'll tell you more of my own experience and get you in touch with people who are having similar experiences to yours.

There is no reason any of us must suffer with ill health when our bodies are the miracle of healing and health that they are. We need to nourish the cells and our cells will allow our bodies to do what it can do naturally, including detoxing.

Happy health to you all.

Nutrition

Hmmm interesting word. As usual, I like to start with the meaning of the word itself. Where does it come from, what associations do I have around it, what power does it play in the lives of those who speak it?
Nutrient
Neutrino
Nurture
Nature
Attrition?

The Webster’s definition of nutrition is:

The taking in and use of food and other nourishing material by the body

So what am I doing with MY nutrition. Well, I have studied nutrition on my own for years. I know what vitamins, minerals, herbs, food, water, etc. can and do do for my body. The trick for me has always been balancing my diet to receive the optimum nutrition.
Of course, that changes as my body ages, as injuries occur, as I challenge and change my lifestyle. And, I have never been able to juggle everything to reach what I would consider optimal nutrition.

I didn’t like to admit that. I’m the kind of person who wants success and wants to have credit for that from my own actions. So, when ReLiv came along I was skeptical at first until I starting hearing the stories.

It was the stories that convinced me to try this product. I can remember the stirring I felt inside. When I first heard them. "Maybe, maybe, maybe, it can help" came the whisper from deep inside. "What if, what if, what if" I murmered to myself.

And I took the product. And I will never stop now.

My body responded instantly. My body is still happy and happier than I’ve ever been.

How Nutrition Works
We eat to live. I have often also lived to eat. I was trying to fill myself emotionally as well as physically. It didn’t work. I was never happy with my body or my well-being in general.
When I started ReLiv, my body said YES loud and clear. Finally, I was giving my cells what they needed. I didn’t want to overeat and portion sizes of food diminished. I stopped craving sugar every hour. I still ate sugar, but it didn’t seem to trigger more cravings as it had in the past.
What was happening? I discovered that our body heals itself when it gets the nutrition it needs. I found out that the synergy of the formula made the difference and that this was patented as a food, not a supplement. I was clearly in the right place with my nutrition.

The Bigger Picture
I have been concerned about the affairs of the world for a long time. In the 60’s and early 70’s, I thought I had the definative answer. Then in the 80’s I sorta dropped out of the political conversation. But my heart still wept for the famines, poverty and inhumanity to man.

As a Baha’I, I have a positive vision of the future to hold on to. When it seems nothing will ever change, that comforts me.

And so, there is a bigger picture to this ReLiv business. When I see our population, our American citizens all around me that are sick, lame, toxic beyond belief, I weep as well.
After the tears, comes the fear. If this is where America is heading, it doesn’t seem to be a country I want to live in. So I have been aware that I need to do something to help reverse this toxicity.

I do random acts of kindness, I do good when and where I can, I tell the truth to the best of my ability, I believe in love and I show it as I can.

Yet, there was something more I wanted to do and I examined my options. Little did I know, it wasn’t up to me except in the broad abstract. My higher power was pulling the strings.
And ReLiv came along. A great product, but a networking business and I had huge prejudices about that. I began the climb toward acceptance as I continued to put myself into this business.
Today, I am learning and I recognize I am "taking on" this challenge to overcome some judgements, as well as satisfy my competitive spirit. I’m having fun, and I’m losing some old habits that were due to be dropped. It’s not easy and I get discouraged. But, I remember the feeling of what I am doing and I know to the degree I put in effort will be the degree to which I receive back, only ten fold. It keeps me going.

My Story

Here's my story since I have become involved with this wonderful business and product -- ReLiv.

It has saved my life in more ways than one. Since starting on their basic product (Classic/Innergize powered drink 2x a day) I have absolutely no more pain in my ankle that was damaged so badly 20 years ago and had created chronic pain conditions for me for the last 10 years. This is an answer to my prayers as I was certain I would be in a wheelchair by the time I was 70 and had been taking overdoses of aspirin and ibupropen for several years. I had even considered having my foot ambutated to eliminate the terrible pain. Today, I am pain free!!!

The other way ReLiv has saved my life is the opportunity it holds for increasing my income and providing a lifestyle I really want. In the past, even though I held positions of corporate responsiblity, ran my own consulting business and was engaged in an active, large pschotherapy practice in Chicago, I had not managed my personal finances responsibly and in my retirement, had to still work to generate income beyond my Social Security income.

With ReLiv, I am able to keep my own schedule at home, use and enjoy the beauty of where I live in Southern Arizona, and provide a service to mankind by nourishing the world, helping others to have fullness of health as I now do and experience the freedom from pain I have found.

In addition, I am happy that as a distributor, I can contribute a special fund ReLiv has set up that supports the feeding and nourishment of children in need here in the US and around the world. At this time, the foundation is feeding 40,000 children a day!!! They all receive the ReLiv nutrition and it gives me the reassurance that there is progress in a world challenge I have been concerned about for some time.

Let me know if you want to find out how ReLiv can help you with your own health concerns. I'll be glad to explain more about the products, the business and also get you in touch with others who have had results from this wonderful nutrition that matches your own needs.

Getting to Why and How I became a product of the product

Why am I doing this?

How many times have I ever asked that question of myself upon embarking on a new adventure, or finding myself in the midst of new territory?
I feel like a character in Lost sometimes. Not sure why or how I got here, but making the best of the situation.

So, I’ve thought about my involvement with this ReLiv business. I’ve read books on network marketing, on sales, on developing referral systems, on all kinds of aspects I think will fill in the gaps about WHY I am doing this and more importantly HOW do I do it.

The WHY is pretty easy. Here are just a few from my list of "Getting to Why" (not Why, Arizona, but Why do I want to do this business)

It’s fun, I’ll meet new people, I’ll get money, It’s a grassroots approach to sales, no big middleman, I’ve been wanting to try another new career, I never did sales and want to see if I can, I’ve had issues with business, money,"selling" etc. this will help me clear those, I want to see if I can, I need money to travel, I want to share the miracle of healing that I received, I think the world needs healthy people in it, I like being able to contribute to nourishing the world
It’s interesting that as my list goes on, I get to the higher levels of Why. Ultimately, I want to contribute and help our world become a better place.

How am I doing this?

Fortunately, I have a great template in my sponsor. She is well versed, practiced and steeped in the ReLiv system. She is willing to take time and effort to assist me as I travel through this unknown territory. And, she is a product of the product.
I too am product of the product. I think everyone in ReLiv is or we wouldn’t be doing this.
When I say I’m a product of the product, I must begin by telling my story. See my next post.
